Clarity

High achievers are driven to seek success, but they don’t always know how to create the success they desire. The first step is articulating a clear and accurate vision. If you don’t know where you’re going, you won’t know when you have arrived. Do you have a map to get where you want to go?

Purpose

Despite tremendous talent, skills, and educational investment, high achievers don’t always have access to the critical resources to help them curate a seamless path to their desired outcomes. Life is about fulfilling our deepest dreams, but most don’t have the opportunity, privilege, or means to accommodate certain courageous choices. What’s the story you will want to tell?

Do you want to be equipped with a personalized, step-by-step plan to navigate the risks, roadblocks, and self-talk that prevent most people from living their fullest and happiest lives? You deserve to be happy… now, not someday; fully, not mostly; and on no one else’s terms but your own. Don’t waste another minute of your one beautiful life!

As defined by the International Coaching Federation (ICF), coaching is a relationship in which a client partners with a coach in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential. Coaching focuses on setting goals, managing change, and creating outcomes. A coach-led, client-driven process, coaching never promises results beyond the client’s control. People from all walks of life recognize that they are facing complex and difficult challenges which they are unprepared to solve on their own. According to an ICF study, the prevalence of coaching has increased by 38% over the last 8 years.

One common myth is that coaches tell clients what to do. Coaches do not advise but rather guide clients in exploring the possibilities. This may include thoughtful assignments, but it does not involve giving commands or directives. Coaching acts as an encouraging support system that helps build the clients self-efficacy. Another more recent misconception about professional coaching is that it is a substitute or “new form” of therapy or counseling. This is a dangerous belief. Coaches are not licensed to diagnose or treat their clients. While past experiences may impact current behaviors, a coach’s focus is on guiding a client’s future behavior and action; while a therapist seeks to help a patient understand the “why” based on earlier experiences, the focus is generally retrospective to help the patient live a fuller current and future life. Both therapy and coaching are important self-development resources provided by the wellness community to those who seek it; both rely on personal readiness and courage as prerequisites; and both require an investment of time, money, and emotional energy in order to reap the benefits. Finally, coaches are different from consultants, who provide expert opinions, analysis, and recommendations; mentors, who are typically of a more senior status within the field of a more junior person and who have knowledge, experience, and networks worthy of sharing; sponsors, who have power or authority to influence; and advocates who have the skill, influence, and drive to rally support for a cause. All of these roles aim to serve a purpose beyond cheer leading.

Coaching isn’t only for superstars, athletes and musicians; nor is it just for problematic leaders or low performers in need of remedial help. Coaching is no longer considered a luxury or that which is accessible only by the rich and famous. Coaching today is quite mainstream, almost as common as personal fitness training. If you don’t have a coach, it’s possible you may be missing out on a resource that your peers and competitors are already taking advantage of.

We all need a sounding board to support our turmoil, both work and personal. However, when you find yourself reeling out the stories of your daily struggles to anyone around you who will listen, then you should assess if you are getting what you need to make life better. While a listening ear of a trustworthy friend or spouse can be helpful, it is NOT their job to rescue you from drowning. In fact, the partners/spouses of many such individuals report feeling the burnout of their partners’ struggles alongside them, even when they aren’t being used as their sounding board (i.e., punching bag). If this sounds like your situation, then the structured dialogue provided by a skilled coach can help your partner and your friends get more out of their relationship with you.

A clever quip from the documentary “Stutz” states, “You want your friends to just listen and you want your therapist to give you advice.” I’ll close that gap by adding, “Transformation happens from within and can be expedited with the help of a skilled coach.

Gaining happiness sooner, avoiding ongoing despair, and rediscovering purpose and a path to fulfillment are goals that can’t be assigned a dollar value. It can be hard to place a price tag on certain life experiences, but “value” can often be quantified when one thinks about the cost of lost opportunity. For example, coaching can help you:

  • Negotiate the most desirable salary when starting a new job
  • Prevent you from making a decision you might regret, whether that decision is costly in dollars or emotions.
  • Claim a well-deserved raise or promotion
  • Balance the high-stakes demands of a leadership role while maintaining your health and wellness
  • Rediscover joy and purpose, especially if you once had it but seemed to have lost it along the way
  • Find flow, ease, and fulfillment at a mid/late-career stage when work should be easier, not harder
  • Save you from divorce or the weight of an unhealthy/unsatisfying relationship
  • Achieve your aspirational goals faster

I suspect you enjoy a certain amount of success, security, and privilege to even be considering if coaching is for you. Because of that privilege, you don’t take lightly that coaching is an investment in yourself that keeps on giving, delivering value in the moment and continuing to return benefits over a career and lifetime.

Clients are generally drawn to a particular coach based on a shared personal or professional background, journey, or set of demographic characteristics. Rapid alignment and relatability are important, but you should also assess if the coach you are considering hiring has the track record to help you achieve the specific results you seek. Before selecting the coach you will work with, you should ask for an initial consultation to ask about the coach’s background/training/certifications, methodology, cost, availability, references, and history of results. Often coaching clients report that their choice was based simply on chemistry, not necessarily on credentials or methodology but you should feel a sense of alignment, trust, and optimism that you will get what you need. Finally, a personal referral can instill confidence and expedite trust.
Reddy4Coaching clients are generally high achievers of varying backgrounds including college and graduate students, young professionals, and corporate leaders who come to me because they feel stuck. I have helped early career physicians align professional goals to their definition of personal fulfillment, mid-career leaders execute their bold next steps, and many other professionals grow and thrive as they curate the future they always dreamed of but never knew how to claim. After working with me, my clients boast of their new and rewarding perspective on life to realize the abundance of choice, freedom, and opportunity they have at their disposal. Clients are most commonly in the healthcare field but other high achieving professionals who report similar stressors in their high intensity work environments also seek my services.
A Reddy4Coaching package includes 12 weekly sessions, each session lasting about 50-70 minutes. The experience generally unfolds over three months but the duration may be spread out over 4-6 months if the client chooses. An “alumni package” for an additional year of support and service is also available and renewable for additional years. Upon request, an initial 90-minute “Clarity Consultation” can be conducted to help assess mutual fit.
Most coaching experiences work through a series of reflective and cognitive steps or phases that help a client gain awareness, create alignment, and take action. The Reddy4Coaching methodology uses an evidence-based approach modeled after Toyoda’s Coaching Kata and includes the following steps: 1) Reflection, 2) Assessment, 3) Opportunity, and 4) Execution. This involves an exploration of unspoken truths, building a mindset of experimentation, and devising a strategy for sustaining the gains.
Kata is a Japanese term meaning “form” and refers to patterns, habits, or routines used to create muscle memory. In martial arts, for example, katas are choreographed patterns of movements or techniques that one practices repeatedly to create discipline, reproducibility, and optimal results. Using the scientific method and a mindset of continuous learning, the Reddy4Coaching methodology builds on the principle that knowledge alone is an asset but the “knowledge to create new knowledge” is the basis of future innovation, creativity, and resilience. This process enables individuals (and organizations) to become adept and more adaptive when the next set of challenges arise. The Japanese mindset of kata is visibly represented as a key principle in the company’s management system; but more important than the quality of automobiles that Toyota manufactures is the effort, attention, and value the company instills in developing its people.
A career in medicine is, without doubt, a noble pursuit. As a high achiever, I worked hard and I made many worthy contributions to my patients, my peers, the systems, and the field. Having said that, I believe I can create more goodness and goodwill through my coaching mission, and with a much wider and more lasting impact on the world. Families thrive, businesses succeed, communities prosper, and the universe flows with more comfort, confidence and ease when more human beings are living their most fulfilled personal and professional lives. I know from personal experience the impact a high achiever like you can have on this world of ours. By making YOUR goals MY focus, I am confident that the additive and cumulative success and happiness of my clients will make the world a better place. This is my goal, one fabulous high achieving client at a time.

My Professional Journey

Every day I seek to love, laugh, and grow, while uncovering the many gifts embedded along this wonderful journey called life. Throughout my career, I have been presented with countless opportunities to:

1) obtain skills and training that have helped me distinguish myself from my peers; 2) craft unique roles for myself and those around me to support and advance important causes; and 3) design cutting-edge programs that serve the distinct needs of a particular audience.

I often reflect on how lucky I have been to stumble upon such good fortune over the years. I realize my privilege and humbly acknowledge that I stand on the shoulders of many able mentors and advisors, wise friends and family members, and a seriously supportive life partner. Having said that, I must disclose that it wasn’t until 2020 that I myself sought the life-changing services of a professional coach to help guide my goals and desired outcomes. Now I wonder: How much more could I have accomplished by now had I found my coach sooner? How much faster could I have gotten here? These are the questions that have inspired me to build Reddy4Coaching, LLC, so that other high achievers have access to a coaching resource I wish I had much, much earlier in my life.

My Background and Training

I spent a fulfilling 20+ years in the medical profession as a pediatric allergy/immunology specialist, first in a community hospital in urban New York City and later at a university-based health sciences center in the midwest.

In 2015, I obtained a Master of Business Operational Excellence (MBOE) and a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification (CLSSGB) from the Fisher College of Business at the Ohio State University. With this valuable skill set, I helped lead the deployment of a lean management system at a tertiary care children’s hospital. In this role, I coached clinical and operational leaders on improvement science mindset, methods, and tools to meet organizational goals, improve team dynamics, increase staff engagement, and enhance patient experience. Over the past two decades, I have participated in coaching dojos and many other professional development courses, seminars, and workshops that have helped refine my listening and asking dexterity.

In early 2022, I completed a Master Certified Professional Coach (MCPC) training from the Certified Life Coach Institute. In late 2022, I participated in Cohort #11 of the Positive Intelligence (PQ) Coach Training Grant Program.

My Coaching Mission and Method

I am excited to utilize my experience as an improvement scientist to help high achievers like you discover the career advancement and job satisfaction they desire but don’t know exactly how to get.

During a lean study trip to Japan and Toyoda, I observed the best of the Coaching Kata: Leaders focused on customer value, engaging and developing employees, going to where the work happens to solve problems and reduce chaos. Based on this mindset, I created the Reddy4Coaching mission. Through a creative, client-driven process, the Reddy4Coaching methodology helps clients set goals, manage personal change, and create outcomes using a four-step process: 1) Reflection, 2) Assessment, 3) Opportunity, and 4) Execution.

Throughout my experiences, I have observed that professional fulfillment is rarely attained painlessly, without expert guidance, and never without a plan. Hence, I believe that every high achiever deserves a coach’s discerning ear to help them see exactly where they are, determine where they really want to go, and co-create a roadmap to get them there on their desired timeline. Most importantly, a coach’s support can help them get there with as little pain as possible, and also make the journey fun and rewarding!

The Logo

The Lotus Flower

Because the lotus rises from the mud without stains, it is often depicted as a symbol for overcoming adversity and retaining purity, strength, and beauty through life’s challenges.

In Sanskrit, it is the character for enlightenment and transcendence. Philosophers agree that the lotus flower is the perfect symbolism to the universal human condition: to be tested in muddy waters but with the resilience to always bloom beautifully in the end.

The Color Blue

The color blue represents both the sky and the sea, and is associated with freedom, intuition, and inspiration, as well as stability, trust, and wisdom.

Blue gemstones are believed to aid in creating calm and relaxation in crisis or chaotic situations, to open the flow of communication between loved ones, to feel genuinely inspired, and to gain the courage to speak from the heart.
